WestJet Gets Fresh with Chopped Leaf

WestJet adds The Chopped Leaf™ as exclusive meal supplier on board all daily flights from Canada

OAKVILLE, Ontario. October 12, 2017. The Chopped Leaf and WestJet have partnered to serve fresh meals on more than 250 major flights daily. Wholesome, nutritious meals will be available on board WestJet aircraft courtesy of fresh casual restaurant chain, The Chopped leaf.

Starting November 15, 2017, WestJet guests can pre-purchase or buy on board a selection of Chopped Leaf’s chef-designed rice bowls, multi-grain sandwiches, cheese trays, and salads.

The menu will change throughout the rest of the year, injecting variety and excitement to inflight meals for frequent fliers.

“WestJet and The Chopped Leaf have a common goal to break down the ‘airline food’ stigma,” says Rossen Dimitrov, WestJet Chief Guest Experience Officer.  “The ingredients in our new menu have been sourced to provide healthier options with quality and taste in mind. We continue to evolve our onboard offerings to meet the needs of our 22 million annual guests.”

Nick Veloce, President and COO of Innovative Food Brands Inc., parent company of The Chopped Leaf, says, “WestJet values are very similar to ours at The Chopped Leaf. We want to ensure our customers are delighted with their food experience and take great effort in making sure that each person who visits our locations leaves with a positive experience. This partnership with WestJet is now perfectly aligned to delivering on this wherever our customers are.”

“This partnership with WestJet gives The Chopped Leaf the opportunity to nourish our current customers and reach new customers that have yet to experience our brand.  Aligning our markets is a very exciting opportunity for growth,” says Blair Stevens, President of The Chopped Leaf. “As a WestJet Gold Rewards member and a fan of the airline, it’s wonderful to see the possibilities of where The Chopped Leaf can grow.”
